01 · The tip

Stop hunting through forms for a known field ID.

In classic Encompass, an open-loan workflow has a Ctrl+G shortcut for “Go to Field.” Type a field ID and choose Find. This is documented by Blend's Encompass help materials; the example field below is confirmed in ICE's field reference. Features can vary by version, form visibility and lender configuration.

STEP 01
Open a loan in classic Encompass.
STEP 02
Press Ctrl+G to open Go to Field.
STEP 03
Enter a known field ID, then Find.
Not a browser shortcut: Ctrl+G may do something different in Edge or Chrome. Use it in the applicable Encompass desktop interface. Confirm the behavior in your own environment before relying on it.
02 · Safe practice

Find a field without touching a loan file.

This is a fictional training simulation—not a connection to Encompass and not a screenshot of ICE software.

This lookup illustrates navigation, not data verification, an underwriting decision, or permission to override a field. Never use real borrower information in practice demos.
